ABOUT THE EVENT
Welcome to the SARRC ‘Park Stampede’ Team Relay & 5K.
Date: Friday 14 March 2025
Start time: 6:00 PM
Venue: Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi (Park 16) Course Map
Teams: Anyone can form a team. There are 4 members in a team. A team can be all male, all female or mixed (at least 1 male and 1 female per mixed team). We encourage teams to enter into a category, namely 1) social (Friends & Family) 2) corporate or 3) fitness & gym and encourage others in your category to enter as well to compete for bragging rights.
The relay is a 4 x 5km relay event with each team member running, jogging or walking 2 laps of a 2.5km loop within Victoria Park before passing the virtual baton to their teammate who does the next 5km loop in traditional relay fashion.
Taking part in a 5k race for the first time can be a daunting experience for many, but by entering the Park Stampede Relay you can pull on those trainers with colleagues and friends knowing you will be surrounded by friendly faces for every step! This event offers everyone the chance to take part regardless of fitness levels or speed. There will be a sense of competition for many on event day to see who can be crowned the fastest team, but for most it’s about a sense of community.
